Contagon Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 There is probably a super easy solution to this, I'm just have no idea what I'm really doing. Alright, for the project I'm working on I need to know the weight. I figured to do this I have to enter the density somewhere. I made a new material of what I need (Aluminum 6061 to be exact) but couldn't find anywhere to enter the density. Any idea what I need to do to find the weight/enter the density? BTW I'm using AutoCad 2011. Thanks Contagon. Quote
ReMark Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 From your AutoCAD Help file: "With the MASSPROP command, you can analyze 3D solids and 2D regions for their mass properties including volume, area, moments of inertia, center of gravity, and so on. In addition, the result of the computations can be saved to a text file." Quote
Contagon Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Alright that pretty much solved it. Thanks Quote

Contagon Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Ahh, 1 problem though. I got the mass properties of it and the mass=volume, so that means the density is 1. How do you change the density? Quote
naserrishehri@yahoo.com Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 dear friend it s my problem too.if you could find any solution please help me. kind regards Quote
rkent Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 With AutoCAD you will get a density of 1, simply multiply by the density of the material you want to use. Quote
