baz88 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Can you draw up in autocad and import into revit and make it look like it was done in revit? Im using autocad architecture 2011 and revit 2009 or 2008 Quote
Cad64 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I don't know what you mean by "make it look like it was done in revit", but yes, you can import Autocad drawings into Revit. Just make sure you save down to 2007 format in order for Revit 2009 or 2008 to be able to Import. Quote
baz88 Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Cool thanks. Is there a special way to do it or do you just go to save as and choose 2007. I remeber doing that with autocad 2009 so I could view on 2007, all I did was choose 2008 and click save. Is that the same way? Quote
Cad64 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 As shown below, in the Save As dialog, for "Files of Type", just choose 2007. You can also set your default save format to always be 2007. Just open your Options dialog > Open and Save tab > File Save section > and set the Save As option to 2007. Quote
baz88 Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 I tried doing that but it didnt work. When i open a folder in revit the files it supports are, .rvt, .rfa, .rte. Anything else like an autocad .dwg drawing when i click open it gives me the error failed to open document. Quote
sevdo2000 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Try with import on the ribbon. Then there is some insert options ... Quote
