AutoCAD (2008) keeps giving me this message whenever I want to save:

"Document 'E:\...' has a command in progress.

Hit enter to cancel or [Retry]"

and it won't let me save. If I hit enter or R (for retry), it seems to exit whatever operation it thinks it's in the middle of, but then comes up with the same message the next time I try to save.

In fact, this happens with a whole number of operations. It claims it can't do it because it thinks another command is in progress.

Lucky for me, if I close the document, it asks me if I want to save, and if I say yes, it actually does save it, so I haven't lost any work, but I hate to have to do this every time it comes at me with that error message.

Can anyone think of why it might be doing this or what a solution might be?
