Hi,

I'm having trouble getting a simple shape to be constrained vertically as shown in the attachment. The sketch shown in red was used to define the plane that the rectangle is drawn on. The vertical wall was used to define the rectangle horizontally. I would think I could use the floor to define the sketch vertically, but it doesn't work. Alternately, the horizontal centerline thru the rectangle could be co-linear with the yellow axis drawn thru the end point of the red sketch, but that doesn't work either.

If you can help, I'm all ears. I didn't find anything searching the forums/google...

Thanks

while you probably can't select the floor you should be able to select the back edge of the floor just below your sketch. Where does this piece need to be located in reality?

Right, there are a few edges to reference, but I always get this bizarre measurement to nowhere. This attachment is where the measurement goes to when referencing the back edge of the floor. Other references yeild measurements to places that aren't even in the physical model.

The horizontal centerline of the rectangle should be on the horizontal axis thru the plane. I built an actual axis but it doesn't seem to help.

If you use "Project Cut Edges" you will be able to (collinear) constrain your rectangle to the floor (purple line):

That worked, thanks. I still feel like there should be a way to reference it back to the original sketch in red (first post), but this will do the trick for now.:D
