cronos47 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 This is probably a really stupid question, but several of my settings dialog boxes aren't showing up. I right click on the buttons at the bottom (at the moment snap and grid show this problem), click on the settings selection so I can modify them, then the autocad window looses windows focus (the bar at the top goes to the pale blue), and I can't do anything in autocad. I hit escape and it goes back to normal. That looks to me like it is opening the settings window, and my focuse is being set to it, but I don't see it. How do I fix this? Can I reset dialog box starting locations (not like I know how it got moved to a crazy place in the first place, but still)? How can I get my settings dialog boxes back? Quote

cronos47 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Thank you for the reply, however, the filedia command did not fix the problem. I set it to 1, and they still don't show up and I still have the weird switching focus to the window I can't see. Quote
rkent Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 You can change the resolution on your screen to a lower res, the dialog should show, move it to the center of the screen, change resolution back. Quote
cronos47 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 The last idea did not work, but an adaptation to it did. Somebody else at work here has had solidworks do similar when they had a dual monitor setup, making the dialog show up in a weird location on another monitor. In my case, I apparently used to have settings that had my secondary monitor to the left of my primary. Now it is the other way, but for some reason, the dialog box remembered it's location for that setting. So it was showing up in the imaginary monitor to my left, instead of my primary monitor in front of me, or my secondary monitor to the right. I tried moving my secondary monitor to the left side of the screen (in the display settings of course), load up the settings, lo-and-behold, it was there. Thank you for all of the help. Quote
Tiger Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 a tip is to hit Alt+Space+M (or F for Swedes) and then use the arrows to move the dialogue box when it's out-of-bounds. Quote

That did it for me. You have to make sure you hit OK within the box and not cancel or it will go right back where it was. Quote
