Run a virus scan and then come back and post the rest of your specs.

Video card?

Operating system? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? You listed win XP and Vista in your computer details? Either stick with XP or upgrade to win 7. Get rid of Vista.

Your processor should be ok for 2D work, but not for 3D work.

2GB RAM might be ok for 2D work, but not for 3D work.

I think you should upgrade your system if you want to run these programs.

Well a P4 @ 1.7 will not be a 64 bit system ;)

I am with CAD64 if you have issues with AutoCAD then SolidWorks will be even worse!
