single-line architectural drawings ?

Sorry, maybe ask out of forum scope. but anyone can tell me what is different between single-line architectural drawings & normal architectural drawing? Thanks.

In brief:

 

Single line would show the outside wall line (for exterior walls) where normal would show double lines representing wall thickness. For interior walls the line would represent the center of the wall.

Many house plans depicted in magazines and books one can buy at their local "big box" store (ex. - Home Depot or Lowe's) consist of single line architectural drawings. Typically you'll also see room sizes overall room sizes called out (ex. - 10x12) but there will be few if any real dimensions. The object of the drawing is to give an overall view of the structure. You would not build from these drawings.
