Version 2011.

If you type Field in your command prompt you get a table. You can use

Formula. Has anyone ever used that and how does it work.

Thank you,

I use it all the time... there are many tutorials on You Tube if your starting from scratch alternatively use the search function on this Forum.

Can you be more specific in what you want to do / achieve then i can help you.

Regards

:D

Example: FIELD, click onto FORMULA, now right click in the formula box and INSERT FIELD then pick OBJECT (we are going to add together 2 areas) then select object (closed polyline) area then OK.

Now you have an area of the 1st closed polyline in the formula box now manually enter the + then right click and do the first step again only selecting a different closed polyline, then ok x 2 and you will have the total area of the 2 closed ploylines.

I hope this was clear...

I think there could be many uses for fields. For example keeping track of drawings.

Making blocks with part numbers in them and creating updating bill of materials.

Where is the YOU TUBE tutorials. How do you get there.

Thank you,

We use fields for a lot. For an example; since we utilize the sheet set manager our sheet numbers & titles as well as are the reference bubbles for sections, details, etc. all have fields and they can be edited in the sheet set manager with even opening up the drawing file for them.

I have never used Sheet Set Manager that much. Is there a good tutorial on

using sheet manager with Fields. Using blocks with fields. Do you have any

examples on how you use fields so I can explore this farther.

I tryed Sheet Set Manager a few years ago but for some reason I stop it

because of something. Can't remember why at this time.

Thank you,

I guess my question is how does sheet set manager & Fields help a company that

does a lot of drawings for cleints. How is it set up. Looking for suggestions for my

company.
