Polyline and LWPolyline

Hello.

What is the difference between the following entities..... is only Line Wieght of the Polyline ?

(0 . "POLYLINE")

(0 . "LWPOLYLINE")

POLYLINE was used in ACAD R14 and changed in future releases to LWPOLYINE.

Just to clarify the LWPOLYLINE was introduced at the time of release 14 and has been the standard since. I use it all the time.

A Polyline entity may be a 3D Polyline, 2D Heavy Polyline, or 3D/polyface mesh.

 

An LWPolyline is just a 2D Polyline with perhaps elevation.
