Import part of a drawing as an xref.

I have 3 projections on a drawing. a side elevation, a plan elevation and a front elevation. I would like to import the plan elevation into another drawing as an xref.

How do i do this with out importing the whole drawing?

I could insert it as a block into a new drawing but then that when i change the block in the new drawing the original wont update in the original..

Is there any way around this?

you can xref it & thaqn use x-clip to show only the part of the file. the rest of the file will not be visible but will still sta in the drawing.

 

another option could be that you insert as block & when you make changes go to other drawing & redefine block using design centre to update it in that drawing also. if you access block tru design centre you get 3 options 'insert only', 'insert & redefine' or 'redefine only'
