Dynamic Block... No Longer Dynamic!

If you made the block in the original drawing, then inside that drawing, the dynamic block is just the dynamic block.

When you use WBlock, do you select Objects or Block? Try select block and the dynamic_door should be there as in picture.

I agree with Tiger that you appear to have a nested block and following her method of creating the block should eliminate your problems.

However to close out my suggestion, I can confirm that in 2008 TICKING the "scale uniformly" (obviously changed for 2010) box does not eliminate the error introduced in the AutoCAD scale command. I may be wrong in assuming it was the Z scale but here is a 10mm cube scaled @ 25.4:1

Command: list
Select objects: p
1 found
Select objects:
BLOCK REFERENCE Layer: "0"
Space: Model space
Handle = b8b8
Block Name: "test"
at point, X=2072.54347777 Y=4802.05272079 Z=0.00000000
X scale factor: 0.03937008
Y scale factor: 0.03937008
rotation angle: 0
Z scale factor: 0.03937008
InsUnits: Millimeters
Unit conversion: 1.00000000
Scale uniformly: Yes
Allow exploding: Yes
Distance: 0.39370079

this demonstrates there has been a rounding error somewhere as the distance should be 10 x scale, and the block is no longer dynamic. If I now select its properties and apply (via the calculator) a scale of 1/25.4 it becomes dynamic again.

Thanks for all your help folks... I really appreciate it :)

I followed your example Dave, but didn't get the same information as you. I get:

"BLOCK REFERENCE Layer: "DOOR A"

Space: Model space

Handle = 405f

Block Name: "DYNAMIC_DOOR"

Anonymous Name: "*U4"

at point, X= 0.0 Y= 0.0 Z= 0.0

X scale factor: 1.0

Y scale factor: 1.0

rotation angle: 0

Z scale factor: 1.0

InsUnits: Millimeters

Unit conversion: 1.0

Scale uniformly: Yes

Allow exploding: No

Door Width: 650.0

Flip state1: Not flipped

Flip state2: Not flipped

It is possible of course that I am being a bit dim here!
