Jim Wendell Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Using 09 LT. Recently updated title block info and company logo. Did mods on master base sheet (paper space),then made a block of the whole thing. When I insert the block to update other title sheets, it doesn't all show up. If I copy it from the paper space to model space, it does all show up in the same dwg........what the flip am I missing? Appreciate whatever help anyone can lend! Quote
Dana W Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Check to see if some of your elements in that block were inserted on a layer that does not plot. I cannot tell you the number of times I have inserted stuff into paperspace only to have it vaporize because I forgot my viewport layer was current and it was turned off at Plot, and I had Display plot style checked on my page setup manager dialog. m1ck3y Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I've had similar problems to this. Try running the "purge" command and remove the existing block that has been changed. Then re-insert the new block. That should resolve the issue. Quote
Jim Wendell Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions. Don't know why, but the problem was test size! When making the logos I used scaling to get them the correct size (scaled text as well). For some reason after all was said and done, the text size was "0" in the text editor for the items that were not showing up when being inserted, but yet I could see them in the master block. Redid the text with a "real size" and ta-da.....they show up now! Though it makes no sense to me, thought I'd share the resolve so someone else who encounters similar doesn't experience the anguish I did!!!!!! Quote

It is not done often enough. It is one of those forehead slappers ain't it. Sorta Purloined Letter-ish. Oops. Shoulda thunka that one myself. Done it too. The text height = 0 works real clever when it is to be used in another "Style" like dimension or leader since it is adjusted in the other "Style", not the text style. It won't work in the dimension or leader style if the text style height is something other than zero. Just use another text style specifically for the logo set to the proper height. Quote
