CJJ
I have had two of our company's AutoCAD users report a similar message. Both of them seem to have gotten this on Friday, and every time they open AutoCAD this happens. The message pops up showing an error, and when you click Continue, everything seems to be working. I've googled the message, and couldn't find much information that applies to AutoCAD. I think the "URI" message means there is a problem in Mircosoft .NET Framework, but that's about all I can get from it. I was just wondering if anyone had seen a similar message, or has any idea how to fix the problem. I apologize for the long post, but I'm going to paste the full details of the error messages. Unhandled Exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined. One is using Civil 3D 2009, and gets the following under details: Application does not support just-in-time (JIT) debugging. See the end of this message for details. ************** Exception Text ************** System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: The URI scheme is not valid. at System.Uri.CreateThis(String uri, Boolean zapper
My AutoCAD Lt 2009 was working fine this morning, installed the latest i-tunes 9.2 (64bit) then started getting the URI error. Will try and uninstall that to see if it works, but cant imagine why i-tunes will affect autocad. EDIT - Uninstalled i-tunes and the URI error has gone and my autocad is working normally. Strange. copenkagan
I have just started encountering this error as well. Although none of my system settings have changed. No programs or updates were installed either. I am using Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2008, so I'm guessing by this thread that it's not limited to one certain deployment. CJJ
Just had another user get this URI error yesterday, this time with AutoCAD Map 3D 2008. Still no ideas about where it comes from/how to fix it. However, the good news is that the Civil 3D '09 user's message has gone away (on its own). I don't know what changed on his system, but it's possible that a patch from Microsoft may have had something to do with it, but I don't know. Maverik
I am getting this error each and every time I open AutoCAD. No problems to report once 'Ignore' is clicked, seems more like a hinderance than anything important. Still, would be nice to be rid of it. NewVillage
I also came across this problem. Except, I am using 2008 and my dialog said "Invalid URI: The URI scheme is not valid." Google didn't return anything useful. The way I fixed it was by looking at the Exception Text. The lines that say 'Autodesk.InfoCenter' were the giveaway. That gave me a hint that it might be something called InfoCenter. I realize that turning InfoCenter off may not be an option for some -- it was for me. Googling revealed: http://otb.manusoft.com/2007/09/autocad-2008-slow-startup-fix.htm The site showed how to turn off InfoCenter via the registry key HKLM\Software\Autodesk\R17.1\[ACAD-XXXX:XXX]\Applications\InfoCenterAcConn Under that key, I changed LOADCTRLS from 76 to 0. Viola! Erik1974
I too would like to know how to really fix this, surely i can also disable the infocenter but i don't think that is the real solution to this problem. What is causing it in the first place? Seeing that so many people suddenly have this "problem" would suggest a buggy MS update.
Cadister
Thanks newvillage for this solution, at least I can get rid of the error message. About being buggy update from M$, maybe so, but it has happened that they corrected something that should have been that way in the first place and someone at autodesk should wake up and make a fix accordingly. As it kind of suggest at the last lines: "Application does not support Windows Forms just-in-time (JIT) debugging. Contact the application author for more information." I wonder why it is not proposing to send error message to autodesk as usual when something odd happens.
poidog
i'm running 2008 and have never had a problem until this morning. according to CAD people... Update for Case #3542 - "JIT DEBUG Error" Uninstall all versions of Microsoft .NET Framework from your system. Next you will want to uninstall AutoCAD 2008 from your system following these directions 1. Download and install the free version of Revo Uninstaller from the link below. http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html 2. When you have finished installing the Revo Uninstaller run the Uninstaller on your AutoCAD 2008 install and make sure to use the advanced setting when uninstalling. 3. Now install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 from this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en 4. After uninstalling reinstall your AutoCAD 2008 software but when you do make sure you are logged in as the Administrator, no other programs are running and disable your antivirus during the install. 5. After uninstalling make sure you download latest update (Update 1) from the link below http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=10035892&linkID=9240618 Edited August 28, 2010 by Cad64 Edited content

Yelling at us and demanding that we approve your post is not the right way to get things done. What you should have done was post a follow up reply, politely asking us to check your previous post for approval. Have you ever heard the saying "You can attract more bees with honey than vinegar"? I have approved your first post, but I have left your second post in permanent moderation. You know, the one with all the capital letters and exclamation points. Hopefully that is "together" enough for you? Have a great day.
