thegodplato Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 When I print the work I have drawn is slightly blurred, almost like the print head needs cleaning on a standard A4 printer. However, on drawings where we are adding info, such as a building layout drawn by someone else, and we add our equipment, the architects original drawing comes out clean but our elements are blurred. Any clues as to why this would happen? They are both in the same paper space ( IE on our title block ) Quote
sparkyuk Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Please just try something for me, left click on a line that prints ok ,then make that layer current, then copy the line and draw something using that line and then print let us now what happens then Quote
thegodplato Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 sorry can't as the `good` lines are an Xref. Its basically happening on all drawings I produce whether from scratch or not. And I'm on MEP 2010 if it helps. Quote
sparkyuk Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Are you able to upload a copy of this drawing or a drawing with these bad lines on,even if its just a few lines that do not print correcty so we can check it for you ?, make sure you save it back to 2007 when you do so more can open it ok ? Quote
thegodplato Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 I have tried using a drawing from my previous employer but that too has a `blurry` border on it when printed out. The `drawing` bit is fine, just the border. I can't attach a drawing, need to have a URL for it which we don't but what I would have attached should be the drawing I have been referring to at the start of this thread. The building layout is printing fine, but the border and the LCM is blurry which is what we have added. The LCM is the symbol in a small rectangular box called LCM with the three digits by its side. If someone can help me out on how to upload the drg file I'll get it done. Quote
thegodplato Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 And now that I've clicked on the Advanced button I see how to do it - what a wally!! So refer to my previous reply for specific info relating to this drawing THE-IS-249 ( Stairs A ) 2007.dwg Quote
sparkyuk Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Well we do not print at A0 so I am unable to check that size, but it prints fine at A1 A3 & A4 ,so if its a A0 problem I am unable to help, have you tried printing at a small size paper ? Quote
thegodplato Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 I have just done another drawing that when printed out is blurred ( see attached scan ). This clearly shows that for whatever reason I am getting different line thicknesses even though they are set to the same, as well as the blurred text - its almost like the ink is being smudged or something. I am new to this CAD MEP2010 and the person who installed it no longer works in the office so I can't even check to see if they know why it might happen. Are there any settings on the print side that I could be changing to get improvements? I have to say that I am a bit confused as to why its happening. Layout0001.PDF Quote
thegodplato Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 still need some help with this guys. Any settings I should be using for setting up the plot file? We are using a HP Designjet 110 plus if that is of use. Quote
