james hogan Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Lines and leaders have started to snap to seemingly undefined points WAY of the screen in both model and paper space. Even with osnaps turned off and grips turned off this still happens. It seems to be the same point constantly but it is not the origin and ther is nothing there whatsoever to encourage a snap. Anyone know how to stop this? Quote
james hogan Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Nope, snap is turned off. Its very confusing. Quote

Anyone know how to stop this? Are you using the commands at the time it "snaps" to undefined points? Or are you opening a drawing and finding leaders no longer pointing to the object? Are these leaders in Paper Space and the model in model space? More information will help narrow down the problem. Quote
james hogan Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 It only snaps when im using the command, for example in paper space i will zoom in on the part of the drawing i want to click on as the first point of the line or leader and even if there are OSNAP options highlighted near to the point it will still shoot off the screen to a point way off the page. This happens in Paper space and model space...although i just tested it and in model space it does seem to be snapping to 0,0. Quote
james hogan Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 What is the coordinate of this point? In paper space the coordintes are X=-2153.7348 Y=-178.1284 Z= 0.0000 In model space the same point is X= 0.0000 Y= 0.0000 Z= 0.0000 It's as if the line is snapping to the orrigin in model space from within paper space like a magnet. Coosbaylumber Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I was having similar problems back when, except it would snap-to the end of some arrowhead way off to the left or right of the visible part. Thus my line began there, out of sight. I found fastest way to stop this routine was to simply turn off the layer containing text or arrows, and then it would not snap-to them anymore. It then began to snap to whatever I picked or boxed in. Wm. Quote
rkent Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 If this is happening only in one or a few drawings then post one of the drawings or a portion of one. Before that I assume you have run recover or audit on the file. Do you have layers that are turned off rather than frozen? What is osnapcoord set to? Try 1 or 2. Does this drawing have xrefs in it? Have done numerous audits and recovers, has happened in more than one drawing prior to this so seems to be more than an individual drawing issue. There are no layers turned off, there are a few frozen layers but this shouldnt effect things...also yes, there are xrefs....the base plan is xreffed in and the only new linework is in the form of leaders and text in paperspace...this is a work method i use regulaly to annotate details etc. and has never caused a prob before. My osnapcoords are set to 1 but i have tested with 0 and 2 and still the leaders snap to this voodoo point. Quote
