Frame Generator copying without vault

Hi everyone. new to forum and just wondered if one of you might be able to help.

 

When creating a frame in frame generator is it possible to copy the Weldment.iam and edit the copy using frame generator?

I have a simple standard frame and I want to be able to copy it and create a shorter version of it.

I've been suck with using just the copy components tool inside inventor as we havn't got Vault set up yet.

I've created a new assembly in a new window using the copy components tool, unticking resuse all std content centre parts and making everything (++) blue icon.

Then saving it in a seperate folder by selecting user path for each item (which I find tedious as I have to select each one individually).

This procedure has worked for me so far but with the downside to have to recreate all the .idw's.

Also anything created with frame generator doesn't link back to its sketch for some reason so I can't modify the weldment like I can with the master copy.

Will I have this problem when we get Vault set up?
