thorobred Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I am new to autoCAD and I was working on a blueprint and I got stuck on changing the polyline colors because it overlaps with another area that's a different color. Is there any way that I can set a boundary to how far the color can go?? Quote
thorobred Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 Is there a way to to make it smaller?? I tried to compress it but it exceeds the limit for the attachment. Quote
ReMark Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Post a jpeg. Use the jpgout command. Or...zip the dwg file. Quote
ReMark Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 So I see you've used the same hatch pattern in both areas but one is green in color and the other is cyan. Room 107 should have the hatch in green and room 113 in cyan right? Quote
numberOCD Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 If you select the hatch pattern in room 107, is it showing the hatch pattern in 113 selected as well? If so, you have to the two rooms as a one hatch pattern; if not, they are separate hatch patterns. If they are the same hatch pattern, there is a break in the perimeter line of 107. You can either try to find the break by expanding (command: TRIM then hold SHIFT while clicking lines and polylines) and trimming (command: TRIM and just clicking the lines NOTE: you can keep clicking on different lines to expand and trim them during the same activity of the TRIM command) the lines, or you can draw a polyline around the room as a temporary/permanent boundary line. I would advise the former of the two. With lines fixed or temporarily/permanently placed, redo your hatch patterns. Good luck! Quote
thorobred Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 I used the TRIM command and selected the objects then typed TRIM again and it didnt work Quote
numberOCD Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 http://docs.autodesk.com/BLDSYS/2011/ENU/filesAUG/WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-6a0b.htm#WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-6a0b Read this first to understand how to work the TRIM command. I was instructing you to trim the walls and door swings then to REDO the hatching. You do not trim hatching, you are only able to move its vertices while selected. Quote
ReMark Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 An example of a hatch pattern that has been trimmed. Quote
