CivilPrice Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 why can I not see annotative text that I created in 2 xrefs at different scales. It is eather tiny, massive, or just 1 scale off. I have a 40 and 60 size viewports so I need the text to show .12 in paper. I have all the anno scales right in the view port but it either always shows the 4.8 for 40 and 60 or the 7.2 for the 40 and 60 scale view ports??? what am I missing here. Quote
CivilPrice Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Can You Not Use Anno Text In Xrefs??? What Setting Could It Possibly Be That Keeps Making My Text Huge Or Tiny Why Will It Not Come In On The Scale I Set Through The Viewport??? Quote
alanjt Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Look at your AnnoAutoScale variable: Updates annotative objects to support the annotation scale when the annotation scale is changed. When the value is negative, the autoscale functionality is turned off, but the settings are maintained: 1 Adds the newly set annotation scale to annotative objects that support the current scale except for those on layers that are turned off, frozen, locked or that are set to Viewport > Freeze. -1 ANNOAUTOSCALE is turned off, but when turned back on is set to 1. 2 Adds the newly set annotation scale to annotative objects that support the current scale except for those on layers that are turned off, frozen, or that are set to Viewport > Freeze. -2 ANNOAUTOSCALE is turned off, but when turned back on is set to 2. 3 Adds the newly set annotation scale to annotative objects that support the current scale except for those on layers that are locked. -3 ANNOAUTOSCALE is turned off, but when turned back on is set to 3. 4 Adds the newly set annotation scale to all annotative objects that support the current scale. -4 ANNOAUTOSCALE is turned off, but when turned back on is set to 4. CivilPrice Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Try To Wrap Your Head Around This. So I Formatted All The Text At Once... Some How??? Only 1 Piece Of Text Works??? The Rest Disappears??? One Piece Of Text Works Perfectly With The Change Of Scales And Different Viewports But The Rest Does Not. Match Attributes Does Not Change The Other Text And They All Have The Exact Same Properties... Why Would Only One Piece Of Text Out Of 50 Work Properly??? How On Earth Is This Even Possible??? Wow... Good Ol Autocad. Quote
alanjt Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Set above mentioned system variable to 4. Reset the viewport annoscale. It will take a minute, but it will ensure that all scales have been set. Quote
CivilPrice Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 the annoautoscale has been off through all of this...??? i dont understand what exactly that it is suppose to do??? I set the scales its 1:60, 1:40, and 1:1, it is exactly the same for all of the text. Quote

Right-click on the item and look 'Annotative Object Scale'. Quote

CivilPrice Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 ok... i click on one single piece of text. i right click and go to "annotative object scale" and it jsut gives me the ribbon options +add object scale -delete object scale +-add delete object scales. so why if all of the text was the same and all had the same 3 scales to begin with, why was it not all comming in the same??? I never deleted any scales, or created new ones? I created the original 3 scales, and never changed the annoautoscale??? i still have no idea how i did this... but seriously you are F**** amazing haha I really really appreciate your help!! If you want to help me create some custom construction notes i'll try to pay you something worth your while haha. thanks again!! Quote

Click on add/delete object scale one, from there, you can view/add/delete any number of scales. It has to do with the text being set to display in the viewport. It's a wonderful pain, but once I figured that out, we were a lot happier around the office. If you want to help me create some custom construction notes i'll try to pay you something worth your while haha. thanks again!! Barring I have the time, I'd be more than happy to. eMail/PM me and we'll figure something out. Always happy to help. BTW, be sure to check out the Fillet with radius thread, I think I posted something that'll make you happy. Quote
