doyle7700
Hi, I too just started using acad 2006 and can no longer just paste part of a cad drawing into solidworks like I used to be able to do when i used 2002 and r14 I really need this to work.. Can you or anyone offer any help? I simply want to edit, copy from autocad and past into my sketch in solidworks. I think there is a setting somewhere that needs to be changed???? thanks
Cad64
I have removed your other duplicate thread from the Autocad section. Why don't you just Import your dwg into Solidworks, instead of copy and paste.
shift1313
you can simply open your dwg in sw, no need to copy/paste. You can also create acad blocks and open them in SW. You mentioned your Acad version but what version of SolidWorks are you using.

shift1313
Well I dont think you can copy/paste between software like that. In SW go to your tools>add-ins and see if you have a dwg or dxf translator that isnt turned on.
JD Mather
You might try saving the DWG to earlier version since your AutoCAD is later version than your SolidWorks.
