Tom McConnell Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Hi Group, I'm new to the forum but not new to cad (been a user of AutoCAD since V2.6 back in 1988, more recently I'm also a Tekla Structures user for 2 years) I'm a multi-disciplined designer w/ 31 years experience. All that introduction because I don't have time now to update my new profile. I hit on this forum searching for information, I liked what I saw & decided to join. I was searching for how to remove the path display in an open drawing. I have reference drawings downloaded from an Architects site. I like to extend the paths they use at the ftp site for traceability of documents. My path is very long and gets truncated in the program title bar. My problem is I may have 6 or 8 drawing files open at the same time, as I tab through them I don't know which one I'm currently in without entering the "dwgname" variable. Here is a sample path/filename: E:\Engineering\Jobs\T\TANGENT_FILES\TAN-003_HAMILTON_HIGH_SCHOOL_PHASE_3\Hamilto n High- Phase 3 Alt. & Add\CAD_from_SHP_FTP\HCSD HHS Revovations - Structural cadd files Autocad 2010\S100.dwg The red underlined text above is truncated from the program window, I know where the file is located, all I want to see is the dwgname; has anyone ever been able to get AutoCAD to display just that? Thanks, Tom McConnell TMAC Drafting Quote
lpseifert Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Not quite sure what you're asking but maybe this? Quote
Tom McConnell Posted July 3, 2010 Author Posted July 3, 2010 Not quite sure what you're asking but maybe this? Thanks lpseifert ! LMAO, that did the trick, I guess I had it set the other way (full path) for so long that I forgot it could be changed. Quote
