Draw tract line as one continuous polyline

Is it possible to cad this solid line (see image) as one continuous polyline?

I can cad the lines and arcs separately, correctly, then connect them together and using PEDIT to join the lines and arcs into one polyline.

That's no problem.

I just don't know how to draw this using only polyline, starting from on endpoint and continuing along the line. I can draw lines fine, but when I get to an arc, I have a hard time with angles, (within the polyline command).

If anyone can give me step by step on how to draw this line using the polyline command, that would be great!

thx

I think it might be as easy as watching the command line when you switch from pline>line to pline>arc. You might need to have the center point of the arc already established.

You could also just convert everything to a polyline once completed with PEdit.

Yes, I could just convert everything to a polyline once completed with PEdit. I know how to do that. That's not a problem.

I'd still like to know if it's possible to cad this, using the polyline command. Start at one end, using polyline command, then arc, then arc, and finally line again, all within the polyline command. One continuous polyline.

rkent recommends having the center point of the arcs already established. True, that is one way.

Is there another way to do it? Without having the center point of the arcs already established?

thx

Command: p
PLINE
Specify start point:
Current line-width is 0.00
Specify next point or [Arc/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]:
Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]: a

Specify endpoint of arc or
[Angle/CEnter/CLose/Direction/Halfwidth/Line/Radius/Second pt/Undo/Width]:

thx alanjt

This is how I started it, but failed at the second arc:

PLINE

Specify start point:

Current line-width is 0.00

Specify next point or [Arc/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]: @135.75

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]: a

Specify endpoint of arc or

[Angle/CEnter/CLose/Direction/Halfwidth/Line/Radius/Second pt/Undo/Width]: a

Specify included angle: 2d30'47"

Specify endpoint of arc or [CEnter/Radius]: r

Specify radius of arc: 555

Specify direction of chord for arc :

Specify endpoint of arc or

[Angle/CEnter/CLose/Direction/Halfwidth/Line/Radius/Second pt/Undo/Width]: a

Specify included angle: 87d26'53"

Specify endpoint of arc or [CEnter/Radius]: r

Specify radius of arc: 25

Specify direction of chord for arc : ??????

How do I specify the direction of chord for arc correctly?

thx

The chord bearing is the entering tangent bearing plus one-half delta of the curve.

If you draw boundaries with the polyline command you may be the only one who does :)
