Normally, when creating a rectangle, each corner will stay at a right angle :). However, just this past week, when I have placed a rectangle, NO such constraints come in:(.

In other words, I place a rectangle, and I am able to grab a corner and drag it to any location, causing the entire shape to change. The only way I have been able to make use of a rectangle is to manually make the edges perpindicular to each other.

Have I inadvertently switched a setting? I have no idea how this happened :?.

Make sure you have Constraint Persistence selected. Including a pic to show.

ah ha! thanks so much. it looks like my "constraint persistence" button isnt in a drop down list as it is in your 2011 inventor. I am using 2010. I must have hit that thing accidentally.

got a minor problem here too. previously, i can easily draw an arc while on a line command, but now its not working anymore. is there a setting for this as well?

Same setting indicated above. Also check your Constraint Properties (RMB) to see that you didn't turn off automatic coincident constraints.

I have never ever seen a need to change these?

If I don't want an autoconstraint I simply hold the Ctrl key during that part of the sketch.

well, for sure i didnt change it on purpose. i would have known if i did. :)

hey guys,

i have a 2d profile which i projected to a curved face of a solid. i'd like to ask you if its possible to extrude that projected curved 3d profile that is created using 3D sketch/project to surface/wrap to surface... if not, what is the right approach in order to extrude such projected sketch? thanks
