Parker Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I have read some threads on converting a drawing from a CTB drawing to an STB drawing, but it doesn't quite work for my situation (as far as I can tell). We are using our layering standards that are setup for use with a CTB. Our client wants our drawings to be in their layer standard and to use STB. In the passed we have just used the Layer Translator to convert layers over to client standards because they have always used CTB files. If I do this for the drawing that requires an STB files, the STB plot style isn't carried over from the template when I convert our layers to the client's layers and I don't have a way of then converting the layers after that (other than manually). Is there a way around this without having to start the drawing using the clients template and using their layers from the beginning? Hopefully that made sense Thanks! Quote
profcad Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 There are two commands necessary to convert a drawing from CTB to STB. 1. Use CONVERTCTB to convert your CTB file to a STB file. 2. Use CONVERTPSTYLES to convert your drawing to a Named dependent drawing (a file that uses STB files) I would continue to use the layer translator if you didn't want to use their layering scheme from the start. Parker Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 Ok, I figured it out... The issue with doing the convert CTB is that I don't have a CTB for the clients plot style and it wouldnt work because of the color differences... I just had to make my original drawing setup for an STB (using any CTB) then do the layer translation and it will change the layer styles during the translation process. Quote
