Can't print pasted excel spreadsheets

Recommended Posts

I've begun having trouble printing drawings pasted excel spreadsheets in them. It started when printing my drawings to pdf the pasted excel spreadsheets wouldn't print. Now I can't print them to pdf OR to our plotter. I work in an office with 4 other cad stations, we all run AutoCad 2011, same print drivers, etc. No one else has this problem so I end up asking someone else to print the page(s) that have the excel stuff on them. This is becoming a pain for me as I'm sure it is for whoever I have to interrupt.

How do I regain my ability to print my own documents where my spreadsheets show up??

I've tried DATALINK. This works for some of the spreadsheets we use but not for others with merged cells. I could edit these but who has time for that.

I appreciate any assistance offered.

Try changing your printer driver.

Some PS3 (postscript) driver have problems printing pdf's and images.

Our office machines were set up to use PS3 drivers on some of the network printers and after a while we found that we lost the ability to print from Wiseimage or to print any pdf's.

Changing the driver on my PC to a PCL6 driver cured the problem instantly.

Thank you nukecad

Unfortunately, I don't have "permission" to do this. I'll have to get my boss to try it. However, we all use the same print driver, so it doesn't make sense that I'm the only one with this problem.

You shouldnt need admin "permission" to try this.

Go to- START > Printers and Faxes

Right click on the printer that is giving you troble and pick 'Properties'

Go to the 'Advanced' tab and you will see the print driver that is currently loaded with a blue down arrow next to it.

Clicking that down arrow will give you a list of the print drivers installed on your PC.

Try changing to a different one than the one that is set now and printing your problem drawing; you can always change the driver back again if you have no sucess.
