ScribbleJ Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I have run into a situation I have never seen in the 18 years I have been doing this. I have an AutoCad 2010 file that I received from one of our other offices that has 3d polylines that represent contours. When I first opened it the layers the polylines are on was locked. I unlocked the layers using the layer manager but the entities themselves are not truly unlocked. When I try to maniuplate them I get the message that they are on locked layers even though the lock symbol in the layer manager indicates otherwise. I did an audit on the file which didn't find any errors. Is there a known bug about this type of issue? Here is my work around. I exported to a 2007 file type and then unlocked the layers and saved it. The entities were truly unlocked then. I was able to open it up in 2010 with the layers unlocked. This is just a weird bug that I happened to stumble upon. I'm just curious if someone else has experienced a similar problem and if they had a different work around for it. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 It seems that you have to sort of 'force' the layers to unlock. I unlocked them then locked them and then unlocked them again and it worked. This must be file specific. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not at this point. Quote
