Is this font SHX or TTF?

If a TTF then have you explored the Character map?

I am not familiar with this font, so if it is a special one and you solve how to show the degrees symbol, then if you send this drawing to somewhere else, are you going to send the font with it? otherwise they will not be able to read text properly.

You must be aware of the portability of data. :D

this is a SHX font. i even used \U+00B0 command and still it is giving me same result (33/64).

hope someone very expert will help me out of this trouble soon.......

The first thing that I would do is to de-compile the shx file to give a shp file, and you can then see what is going on.

You have to use the DUMPSHX programme from the OS command line, and that is in Express Tools.

Have you also tried the key combination Alt 0176 to give °

(shift + 6) combination worked. thank you Eldon for your help.

trouble with using shift+6 is if the file goes to someone else and they don't have the font it will remap and you will get ^ instead. Had that in the past.
