Thanks in advance for any help.

I am operating Carlson software (civil-takeoff T3), utilizing '10 AutoCAD.

I am attempting to create cross sections, specifically 3 stations only.

I created a .mxs file, and 3 .sct files for the appropriate stations. The stations were created from a CL, and the station(s) Z values were created from points.

When I attempt to 'Draw Section File', I am prompted to set all parameters, when when I try to attach in model space I receive 'Error 1 (then my file name, followed by "read only"); yet the files needed to create the work are not protected (read only).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

As a follow up this is the message:

Error 1: Can't Open file C:\ (then my file name) .sct for read!

First make sure the file is located on the path that it is looking for. From your post the file should be on the C:/ without any subfolders which is kind of a strange place for it to be looking. If the file is on the C: drive then right click on the file and select properties and make sure Read-only is not checked. Those are the first two things I would check.

Thanks surveyorcentral......I retraced, numerous times, my work and realized that when the .sct files were created I was viewing them and not saving them (.txt format), I would exit the screen that was available for the data without saving it. Once I saved those files, no problem at create 'section' command.
