number of files open at once?

in studio max can you have more than one file open at once and then go from one model to another, like in autocad you can swap from one drawing to another?

According to what I remember I can say YES you can. and it is so easy, why don't you try it ?

make sure SDI=0 if you want more than one drawing open at a time, SDI=1 for only one open at a time.

cheers guys, and can you see what is open and what other drawings you can exchange into like in autocad, through a menu, say?

This is a 3DS Max question guys. There is no SDI mode in Max.

 

No, you cannot have more than one file open in Max at a time. If you need another file open, you have to open another instance of Max.

thanks a lot cad 64,

 

this is what i thought after various attempts at opening more than one file at the same time and being able to see what files were all open like you can do in autocad, i just thought i was going through the correct process to view what was open,
