erratic Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 every time I apply my custom profile it works, but when I re-launch ACAD it defaults back to the standard profile - !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! note: this is regarding ACAD 2011 x64 Quote
erratic Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 ? - no option is found and was never necessary in the past... again AutoDesk is doing too much. IMO. Why don't they stop trying to reinvent the damn wheel already!!!!! Quote
erratic Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 funny - that's what a college and I were just thinking... I'd just rather NOT have to reinstall, but that may be where I end up today. Thanks. Quote
ReMark Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 You could always try the Repair option. I hope you eventually get your problem solved. Bye. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Have a look at your desk top short cut and make sure that the profile isn't being set there. Quote
tzframpton Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Which icon are you using to launch AutoCAD?? Right-click the icon and go to Properties. In the Target text box, you should see something like this: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD MEP 2011\acad.exe" /p "AutoCAD" Notice the /p "AutoCAD" text. The /p variable initiates the profile in the following quotations. So, /p "AutoCAD" would initiate the standard vanilla AutoCAD profile. /p "AutoCAD MEP (US Imperial)" would initiate the AutoCAD MEP profile that uses the US Imperial catalogs and workspaces. So, if you have created a new profile, you would have to put the exact name of this new custom named profile in the quotations. So if I had a new profile that I saved as "Tannar Frampton" then I would have to put /p "Tannar Frampton" in the icon properties. Hope this helps your issue. Quote
tzframpton Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Yeah, after I posted my detailed description I noticed you already hit the main point I was trying to make. I just elaborated in detail is all. Initial props goes to you, Pablo. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 That's OK, You took the time to explain it properly - Kudos to you too! Quote
