Tiger Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Hey folks! I am exploring Tables in AutoCAD and so far they have behaved well - but now I have run into a snag. I am trying to type 50/140 in a cell and AutoCAD is trying to be smart and keeps stacking the text and changes it say 1/4 (or 11703/32768 if I highlight it. How do I stop it from Stacking?? Quote
ReMark Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I find it to be a problem too especially when I'm typing a date like this: 8/3/10. AutoCAD stacks the 8 over the 3 and then adds the slash and the 10. I go back and highlight just the 8/3 (in its stacked form), right-click, and select Unstack. Quote
monk Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Also turn off auto stack, which when in mtext editor highlight stacked text right click and you should have stack properties. Quote
nukecad Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 You should be able to turn off the autostacking, but often the dialogue has been turned off. To get back to it- In the mtext editor highlight the stacked text and right click on it. Select properties from the popup. Select the Autostack button. Make your changes and save them. Quote
NBC Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 What data type is the cell you are trying to type into ? Quote
Tiger Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Some added information; I type 50/140. I hit enter and a dialogue box shows up asking if I want to enable AutoStacking - if I untick it or not, it doesn't matter, when I leave the dialogue box (either by Cancel or OK, doesn't matter) my 50/140 have turned into 1/4. And if I go into the cell again, the 1/4 disappears and it shows 11703/32768 instead. So perhaps auto-stacking is not the issue? What data type is the cell you are trying to type into ? Its a Header type? I can't find another type to give you... Quote
NBC Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Data Type of the cell can found by selecting the cell, and opening up the Properties Palette. Under the heading Content, there should be a Data Type, see picture: Quote

Tiger Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Thanks While we are at it, do you know of a way to get one letter in a word in a cell circled? I am trying to get the right to look like the left - but better ofc Quote
NBC Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 First of all, create a block (containing attributes), then right click on the cell you wish to have the text containing the circle, then Insert Block. Once your block is in your cell, assuming the same cell is still selected, open Properties Palette, and you should be able to edit the attribute using that Quote
