Rogue Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I am a first time Autocad user and was wondering if there is an easy way to take one of my 2D drawings and see how many times it will fit onto a piece of material so I can get the most cuts out of it with a water jet cutter. Does Autocad have this feature? Quote
kencaz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 No, AutoCAD does not do nesting, however, you could do it manually using array or just moving them. What kind of WJ do you have. Our Omax software has nesting maybe yours does as well. KC Quote

Is there a tutorial online how to array an object? Thanks! Quote
kencaz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Unless you have many small parts you can just copy them for now... Draw the size of the plate your going to get, (depending on the size of their machine), then just use copy and rotate to get as many as you can on that sheet. Good Luck KC Quote
Rogue Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 I did the copy and paste method and it works perfect, thanks! Quote
