Sharepoint - does this handle X-REFS?

Has anyone had experience with using ‘Microsoft Sharepoint’?. My company is currently trialling the use of sharepoint and trying to establish the best way of handling x-refs etc (is this even possible?)

Ideally I would like to know if anyone has successfully or unsuccessfully used sharepoint as a drawing file sharing solution.

If it is possible then can anyone offer advice on how to set up the paths for the xrefs?
