Bolt Material

Hi everyone,

 

I am looking for a way to change the material of the bolts in the content center. From what I understand, it looks like the default content center is in read only file format. Where I am working, we are currently opening the bolts one by one and saving them with a different name and at the same time we change the material to SS or Zinc. What my boss want me to do is to find a way we don't need to change them one by one. I thought that copying the current version of the content center and make a new one where every bolts are in SS would be a good idea but I can't find how to do it and I don'T know if it would be a good idea to do so... Can you help me out?

It look like I have found something. All I had to do was create a read/write library and then go in the editor and change the material style.

 

I've got another question, Where I work, we use our own numerotation for bolts, it looks like this BS4-025-010, where ate the beginning is the kind of bolt, followed by the thread and after the lenght. Is it possible to make inventor use our numerotation automatically?

You will have to change the file naming in your new content center to do this. Use the Content Center Editor to go in an adjust the Family naming.
