ClearIce Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Hi I have a bit of a noob Autocad problem I have created a drawing with some gradient fills and converted them to PDF using plot (DWG to PDF) but for some reason the Black gradients don't show up or print at all. I'm not sure if I just got the colour code wrong for the colour or it's something else wrong. I tried 0,0,0 (as well as using 'white') but still can't seem to get the 'Black' gradient fills to show up on the PDF image or to print (comes out plain white). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Quote
Cat Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Do you happen to have your gradient fill on a layer that's set not to print? Quote
ClearIce Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 I don't think so I have other gradients on the page that show up fine. I think it maybe because I got the colour code wrong maybe, as it shows up fine on the layout (paperspace) and the model space it just doesn't seem to survive the printing or conversion process and its just the Black gradient fill. Cat Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Why don't you post your dwg and see if someone can figure out what's going on. Quote
ClearIce Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 I tried to attach the dwg file and pdf but the files are too big and won't let me as the forum limit is 250kb and my drawing is around 1mb. I tried to reduce it by deleting most of the drawing and it still wouldn't go below 900kb any ideas? Quote
ClearIce Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 You learn new things every day I will give that a go cheers Quote
ClearIce Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 Purging helped but now stuck around the 350kb mark I can't delete anymore of the drawing as there won't be anything left :/ Looks like I will have to bodge the drawing like usual (I really wanted to go a whole drawing without bodging parts of it) Thanks for your help anyway Quote
Cat Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Unfortunately, hatching of any kind tends to make larger files quickly. You are most welcome. If you would like, I can message you my email and you can email the file to me. I will be happy to take a look. Just let me know. Quote
ClearIce Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 I think I found a way around it now hopefully, I changed the colour code to 1,1,1 instead of 0,0,0 and it has worked thanks for the purge thing though. I learn things through trial and error its bloody slow but still it works 95% of the time Cheers Quote
