jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I created a solid and want to add it to my 2D drawing of the part. My problem is that I can't copy the Isometric view to use in my drawing. I can only get Front, Right and Top viewports to copy and paste. I tried referencing in the drawing but it still does not give me the correct view. Quote
ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I believe you can create a 2D block using the SolProf command. Quote
jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 where is the block after I hit enter on the last step? Quote
jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 I created a block but it is still not showing as an isometric view. I got teh top view this time. Quote
ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The blocks that are created are called "anonymous blocks". They might have a block name similar to *U4 for instance. You can isolate the two blocks (one for continuous lines and one for hidden lines) by making one of the layers, either PH-E2D or PV-E2D, current and freezing all the other layers. Since you probably don't want the hidden lines layers (PH-E2D) to show up I'd freeze that one too and make the current layer PV-E2D. Quote
ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 You probably got the top view because you failed to make the viewport with the isometric the "active" viewport. My suggestion would be to temporarily default to a single viewport (the isometric). When you go into paper space that's what should be visible in the viewport that is created there. Quote
ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Here you go. Don't say I never did anything nice for you. I'm kidding. Solprof Block.dwg An isometric 2D block. Saved in 2004 file format. Quote
jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 To make the isometric niew active all I need to do is click in that view? I've done that many times and I still don't get that view when I try to paste it into another drawing. I was thinking that I could paste the drawing in, explode it and then remove the tessellation lines manually, since Autocad won't do it for me, still. At least I woul dhave an isometric view on my 2D drawing. Oh, by the way, it's not that block that I need to copy and paste this time. I've moved on to other things. See new attachment. ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 You are not pasting that view in another drawing. Your object is sitting over in model space. To use Solprof you have to be in a layout which gives you access to paper space. Ideally, when you enter paper space there is nothing there. You create a new viewport and that's when you'll see what's back in model space. Hopefully, before you left model space you had but one thing showing and that is the isometric view of your object. As far as I know the tesselation lines will not be captured by Solprof. Quote
jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 I can get the iso view into paperspace but when I copied it using solprof from paperspace it still picked the front view when I brought it into my 2D drawing. Quote
ReMark Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 My last gift to you today. I've got other things to do. Saved in 2004 file format. Enjoy. Isometric Bobbin.dwg Quote
jbird68 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 ReMark, That was very helpful and I was able to add it to my print. Thank you very much. jbird68 Quote
