Creating a surface in AUTOCAD MAP 2009

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the number of zeros that the Surface tool in AutoCAD MAP 2009 adds to the surface data? I collected depth data from a single beam sonar unit and i am creating a surface of part of the ocean and even though my depth data is one digit after the decimal AUTOCAD adds like 9 zeros to the data when it creates the surface... how can i change this?

 

Also i noticed the vertical diminsions are not accurate on the surface.... How can i set the vertical scale to be accurate?
