Hi, I am looking for a way to put a chain on sprockets I have in assembly. Those sprockets were created with the roller chain functions seperately. The proble is that I need to put a chain on those sprockets because I need to have the chain in my BOM and I don't want to add it manually.

The first set of sprocket I have is a set of 35B32 --> 35B20 with a CC of 17.437"

The second set is : 35B20 --> 35B32 with a CC of 15.45"

I have tried making the chain with the roller chain function but I am not able to make it the lenght I want

Its a tough problem and it took me waaaay too long. If you use the chain/sprokets funcitonality in Inventor this should add a chain to your BOM, but it will only be displayed as a sketch patch for the chain(or belt). Do you need to see the actual chain? or have any kind of functionality of the chain?

Seeing the chain would be great, actually, I've found a .ipt file of chain that is driven by an excel spreadsheet. I am trying to figure out how it works, because what I would like to do is have one chain lets say of 3/8 pitch that has a part number that doesn't change even though the chains are different. I thought I could use the ipart function but it looks like once the parameter of the chain have been set, you can't change them...

here is the link for the chain : http://www.sdotson.com/viewparts.php?cat=power%20transmission its the one in the bottom
