Julia Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I am a university student. This summer I and a few other people from one of my classes have been working on a project to build an electronic device. What we need now is to create a plastic box/encasement to host the electronic parts in (ours is a very simple device... really a box with one moving part). Unfortunately, none of us knows AutoCAD, so we don't know where to begin when it comes to designing a really cool/futuristic-looking device. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to proceed. We thought of perhaps organizing an AutoCAD design contest and awarding the creator of the best-looking device? If that's possible, what are some of the ways to organize such a contest (are there any known sites/forums where such requests would be posted?) Please help! Thank you very much in advance, Julia Quote
Cad64 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Well, if there's enough interest from our members, you could have your contest right here. We have had contests in the past, mostly 3D contests, but we could have a design contest if anyone's interested. You can check out our previous contests here in our Competitions section: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?31-Competitions. You will need to provide more information about what you are proposing though, in order to get people interested in participating. Quote
ReMark Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Is CAD taught as part of the cirriculum for any course of study at your college? For instance, is there a mechanical engineering program? If so you could talk to the professor and suggest the idea as a class project instead of a contest. Quote
