br0604bom Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 can someone please explain their method or the most common method of creating a 3d model from a 2d drawing please? i just seem to have hit a bif of a wall when thinking of trying to start doing a room, is it best to create a polyline in the shape of the walls and then extrude up, or is it better to create a block and cut into it? cheers to someone with an answer Quote
ReMark Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Try using the Press/Pull command. You can create your openings afterwards. Quote
JD Mather Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Try using the polysolid command. Single line (polyline) drawing of walls. Polysolid for thickness and height. Then presspull for door and window openings. Quote
Partyball Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 You also might want to try the sweep command. Draw the profile of the wall with the crown and baseboard molding (chair rail, wainscot, etc.) then sweep along a polyline. Quote
