kevin1973 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 What kind of things do others do to help the program run faster...i.e. turn of xrefs, etc. I'm looking for things that new users could do to help make their drawing environment a little more user friendly. thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 If a person invests in a half-way decent computer that will go a long way towards helping AutoCAD run smoother. Too many users think they can get by with 1GB of RAM and a $59 graphics card. Also...go with a 64-bit system and leave the 32-bit systems for those working on documents and spreadsheets. The drawing environment will be friendlier if it is organized and not cluttered with every feature AutoCAD has to offer. Use workspaces efficiently. Make a true distinction between a 2D and a 3D workspace. Quote
Tankman Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Your PC spec looks fine, as much as we see. Nice. Run AutoCAD smoother? I think you'll find AutoCAD running much smoother after you decide what you need to do if you haven't already. And, templates that are setup how you need 'em to be; i.e.: titleblock(s), dimstyles, text styles, viewports, whatever you need or want. **Note to ReMark** Was thrilled Earl fizzled out. My home town on LI would probably suffered greatly. All we need now is for the Mets to move on up in the Nat'l League East but, we'll have to wait till next year I'm afraid. Quote
