autocad 2005, changed new hardware, is need re-Activation?

hi guys, I'm use Autocad 2005.

now I want to changed new LAN card from onboard 10/100MB to PCI 1GB lan card.

but I no sure is need activation again?

 

when need activation (when changed someone hardware)

 

any advice please!

No you do not to reactivate just because you changed your lan card.

 

Now, even with Windows itself you wouldn't have to reactivate because a change like you are making is not enough to substantially change your configuration profile.

 

Bottom line: Open AutoCAD and start drawing/designing. You are good to go.

PLU250 can accept my transfer? this computer ID is not same?

I don't know where you are getting your information from but AutoCAD doesn't care what you do to your hardware configuration. You are getting AutoDesk/AutoCAD confused with Microsoft/Windows. On the other hand, moving a duly registered version of AutoCAD from one computer to another may require you to contact AutoDesk to explain what you are doing and why. I've moved AutoCAD between computers and have never had a problem.

Are you trying to install a new LAN card in your computer or are you trying to move Autocad from one computer to another?

I think Autodesk, Adobe, that software maybe same detect if hardware changed do some action to continue register...

 

for me, I want to buy new full-set computer, or DIY upgrade/changed my (motherboard, cpu, ram, display card, LAN card.)

base that $ which one cheaper...

because my config:

RAM: 512MB

CPU, P4

onboard (display, sound, lan)

80GB IDE HDD

Wake up. AutoCAD does NOT base its continued use on hardware detection. If you CHANGE computers then YES you may have some explaining to do. However, you won't know this until you load AutoCAD on the NEW computer, input the serial number and then try to get online authorization.

 

Stop getting hung up on swapping parts of an existing computer that has AutoCAD currently on it. AutoCAD doesn't care if you change the graphics card, add more memory, change your CD-ROM for a DVD, add a sound card, upgrade your Lan card, buy a new mouse and keyboard or change the size and type of your monitor.

 

Now, go out and buy your new computer and enjoy it.

when finish installed. get online authorization. done. right?

 

when authorization processing, what infromation need?

is first register that data, (first name,last name,company name,phone number,country,email address)

must same? if not match, will fail call customer care?

 

other way: is not use PLU250 to backup and tranfer file (my license) to new computer imported. ?

AutoCAD 2005? I thought you were upgrading? If you aren't then all you do is put in your serial number and your CD key. That's it. There is no online authorization code required for AutoCAD 2005 that I am aware of.

 

Choose the method you find the easiest.

 

An upgrade from 512MB to 2GB of RAM is quite sufficient for your needs. I don't think the type of lan (onboard or dedicated) you utilize will make any difference to AutoCAD whatsoever.

 

Addendum:

 

I pulled out my CDs for 2004 and 2007 (I skipped 2005). 2004 has a serial number and CD key affixed to the case but 2007 only has the serial number. That leads me to believe that the series of releases dated 2004-2005-2006 were the last to carry the CD key and that online authorization started with 2007. I'm sure that if I am wrong R.K.M., Cad64 or someone equally as knowledgeable will correct me.

One of my coworkers has AutoCAD 2006 and the case has only the serial number and no CD key so I am more apt to say that you are right f700es.

thanks, this computer I used around 6 years, no re-format, no -re-installed win xp.

win xp is very stable system...

 

But I maybe forgot I first of register Autocad that personal data (phone, email)

If used new email I think that online-authorization system, email not match, failed...

possible goto regedit to find my register info?

or that online-authorization system not verify that data without serial-number ?

I've uninstalled autocad (2008 and up) from computers that were being upgraded, installed on new computer requested new code and never had a problem, the personal data im sure doenst match every time, now this may be different because we are on subscription,

Just CALL autodesk, tell them you have 2005 installed on computer A and want to upgrade to computer B and ask them if there is anything special you have to do.

if you are just upgrading pieces of your current computer you wont have a problem at all unless you plan on replacing your hard drive
