I get this message when opening my template.

Substituting [simplex.shx] for [Lucida Handwriting].

Could someone tell me where to download Lucida Handwriting font.

Thanks

The font has to be located in the AutoCAD font folder under Program Files or in the Windows font folder if it is a TTF font.

Download! Gad I can't read this morning! Sorry.

A quick google-search of Lucinda Handwriting gives a bunch of places where it looks like you can download it for free.

I only found tff fonts no shx files on the web. Does anyone know where I can locate it?

Wow, you searched the entire internet!? ... And found nothing!?? :P (Just kidding!)

Tiger is correct; I quickly Googled "Lucida Handwritting .shx" and found several results.

Good luck!

again. everything that i see even when searching for "Lucida Handwritting .shx" turns up to be ttf files. Can you give me the link if you can locate it.

Are you certain Lucida Handwriting even exists as a shx? When AutoCAD can't load a font, it substitutes it with simplex.shx by default.

Either way, whoever created your template should have it.

I don't know if Lucidia Handwriting is available in *.shx. A Windows font, I use it often.

A readily available font. Check your internet connection! :)

This Lucidia font is a TTF. Should be in your OS, if you're usin' MS Windows.

Lots of free downloads, perhaps this url, http://www.321fonts.com/free-fonts/download/lucida-handwriting.htm will work for you. Seems Lucidia has numerous variations. Scroll down the list, too many to count!

Download and put the file in windows/font folder.

why does it have to be a .shx version. Why not use the .ttf that you have already found?
