Does anyone know roughly (very roughly?) the number of Acad users, either in the US or in the world?

I do not believe that you would post inaccurate information knowingly, but when posting statistics, always *try* to site your source.

 

This will allow others to verify your information, and help someone who may know of another source, decide if they will be adding something new to the topic or not.

 

Besides, everyone knows that 74.9% of *all* statistics are made up.

Don't know how many use AutoCAD, but there are close to 1.5 million student members here http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

I don't know if I would trust any number that you come across since there is little if any verification done by independent sources. I would admit that AutoDesk may have sold more seats of AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT combined than other maker's product but that's about it. I think I just read recently where AutoDesk sold more seats of LT than it did full AutoCAD last year.

I know i did read about 10 millions autocad users at Autodesk's homepage but i can't find the page now.

Yeah...8.5 million of those users are in China operating with pirated software. That still counts right? LOL

Admire your passion for seeking the truth, but I have reservations about the accuracy too.... Not saying they would lie however

Whatever numbers you see are hype. Do they count seats sold since the beginning? Active licenses? Seats sold this year? Student seats? I don't know anyone who agrees on a number. I think everyone agrees that number of active seats is a lot - in fact more than all other CAD program seats combined. (period)
