cadmanrob Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I'm creating a model in which I use an extruded spline for my cable connections. The problem is that the file size is getting enormous to the size of 35MB+. I was working on project prior to this model that is very similar. I took the same approach when crating my cables with an extruded spline. The odd thing is that the files size of the older job was a fraction of the new job. What could be causing the new spline solid to be exponentially bigger than before? Thanks Quote
JD Mather Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Can you attach the file here (only need the spline path and profile, not the solid). Quote
cadmanrob Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Here is a perfect example. The green spline takes much longer than the blue for me to extrude. ZZC3.dwg Quote
JD Mather Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Are you doing Extrude (with path) or are you doing Sweep? In any case both are instantaneous for me? I didn't check relative file sizes yet. Quote
cadmanrob Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 It must be me then, because the green is not instantaneous, as the blue is for me. I'm using extrude along the path. There are several detailed blocks in the drawing, I wonder if errors in the model are causing the issue. Thanks Quote
cadmanrob Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Also, I find that at times when I adjust and view the model in orbit, it's jumpy. If I'm viewing it in a visual style in anything other than a wireframe, it becomes very distorted when the "jumpiness" is currently visible. Sorry if that doesn't make much sense, at the moment that is the best explanation I can come up with. Quote
cadmanrob Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Could this be the result of the model being too far away from 0,0? Quote
cadmanrob Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Ok...so it seems I was too far away from my point of origin. Quote
