Burner Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm a rookie to the 3D modeling portion to AutoCAD 2010. Usually I use the 2D workspace and draw the 3D object rather than use Mesh Modeling and Rendering. I pretty much have my object drawn in 3D modeling workspace using the mesh modeling tools, but I am having trouble deleting faces. After reading the topic in AutoCAD Help, I became familiar with the SOLIDEDIT command. Using the prompts I attempted to delete the face but right before I'm done a box pop up labeled "Mesh - Convert to 3D Solids or Surface?". I click "Filter mesh objects from the selection set", the box goes away, and nothing happens (the face remains) ... Any suggestions or different methods? Quote
JD Mather Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 The SOLIDEDIT commands (like Delete Face) are for solids. Meshes are surfaces, not solids. Quote
Burner Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 You are correct, I was using mesh opposed to solid modeling. I redrew my object using boxes and wedges. With the solid editing tools, everything is a breeze. Thanks Quote
