ReMark Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Two options. 1) Use the Donut command. 2) Put the circle on a layer that plots with a heavier lineweight. Quote
Andre Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 that has to be a wind up, the Dohnut command lol Quote
ReMark Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 that has to be a wind up, the Dohnut command lol You are talking about a 2D drawing right and not a 3D drawing? From the AutoCAD Text window... Command: donut Specify inside diameter of donut : 3. Specify outside diameter of donut : 3.25 Quote
Andre Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 yes 2d, when i tried the donut thing it just gave me 2 circles instead of one thick lined circle but when i entered your details above it worked perfectly, thanks quick question have you ever studied from the alf yarwood intro to autocad 2010, it is very vague in its lessons i find, one second your drawing a square box the next it wants you to draw an isometric ball valve and handle ?? im studying it distance learning and have at times literally spent days doing one drawing, very frustrating especially when the tutor takes sometines a week to get back intouch, rant over. ReMark Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 When the Donut command is used it looks as though it wants to put two separate circles in the drawing. It is not until you actually place the donut in your drawing that you'll see the width you have assigned. Alf Yarwood Intro to AutoCAD 2010? Can't say I've heard of it. I can understand your frustration however. I've taken a couple of courses online via the CAD Institute (Murray State College). A little more professional and at least one can interact with other online students (your virtual classmates) and receive feedback (fairly concise and brief) from the professor. There is no reason you should be spending days doing one drawing unless it is complex. Is it? Check out the tutorials here at CADTutor. Some are "static" others are video. Search around the forums or check out the Links for more sources of tutorials. And if you're really smart, which I think you are, come here first to ask your questions. Chances are you'll get a reply faster here than you will from your online tutor. You'll find many knowledgeable, helpful and friendly people at CT more than willing to share their expertise. Quote
Andre Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 thanks for that mate i certainly will come on here more often if need be. im just away to sit the main assesment for the 2d then im on to the 3d stuff, scary scary Quote
ReMark Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I think you'll enjoy the 3D "stuff" even more than the 2D once you have learned your way around the commands. Good luck with your course. Quote
