Andre Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Im doing my assesment for 2d cad, the 3rd task asks me to state the radii donated by R1 R2 R3 AND R4. The task was to draw a propellor then scale it and array it to show a propellor with 2 3 4 and 5 legs. just dont understand the "radii donated" bit. please help Quote
rvpas Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Andre, Radii is plural of radius see wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radius Bye Pascal Quote
Andre Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 Hi pascal thanks for that how do i find the radius of something that has been scaled down ? Andy Quote
rvpas Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Have you got a scale reference on your drawing ? Quote
Andre Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 i just started with a basic 420 297 dwg and then drew 1 leg of a propellor then scaled it 4 times 0.75 0.65 0.55 0.35 and added 1 leg to each respectively 2 3 4 5 arrayed to create the propellor effect. then it asked for the "radii donated" which i assume is asking for the radius of a certain point on the propellor as labelled ? i hope i havent over complicated things, im sure it is very simple to you if u could see it Quote
rvpas Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 A drawing is worth that an one talk, I'm not sure to get it ! could you post a part of your drawing ? Quote

Andre Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 hallelujah i did it!! notice the ri r2 r3 r4 leaders attached to the scaled and arrayed propellors i think it wants to know what the new radii of the scaled down propellors Quote
rvpas Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I agree with you, it's radius of each propellors. I think You have to draw a tangent circle with the edges of blades. see my example sorry I got only french version good luck Pascal Quote
