cduke5 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Does anyone know how to cut/copy a section out of a 2D drawing. I draw curtainwalls and after I complete the elevation view I need to put a section view out to the side to show the in / out position of the framing in relation to the grid. Years ago I used DesignCad and it had a command called "SectionCut" that would let me simply create a rectangle, similar to stretch, and drag a section over to side of the elevation. Does ACAD 2006 have a command like this? cduke5 Quote
viviancarvalho Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 To the best of my knowledge section cutting is not possible out of a 2d drawing. But yes you can get it if you create your dwg in 3d. Quote
hoss Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 if your drawing is in 2d, everything you have drawn is in one surface, ie no depth therefore your side or top view will only be a single line Quote
JD Mather Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I wonder if what you describe isn't really a Detail View. If so,could be accomplished in AutoCAD with Viewport. Do it the hard way (line-by-line) and then post example so someone can see exactly what you are after. Quote
cduke5 Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 In response to JD's reply, how can I put a drawing so you can see it? I have drawings in .dwg or .pdf format. Quote
