Pin Lists

When Creating a new part how do I configure the pin list to know how many pins are avaiable and when I place a child of that parent, check off the used pins and tell me how many pins I have left to place?

 

There is the pin list editor availble but I have no idea how to associate that with a part when I am creating parts.

Are you using the Symbol Builder to create your new components?

 

I've attached some info for Symbol Builder. I hope it helps you when creating new symbols.

 

As far as keeping up with the spares you have available to use. In the "Drawing Properties", there is an option to set up your spare contacts. You can have them set up graphically and when you xref the parent from an aux. contact, it will automatically keep track of the ones that are used and the ones that are spare.
