wrmurphy81 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Does anyone know how to insert a table into paperspace? i.e. a Parcel line or curve table. Right now I just move the table in model out of my working area, then I just create a new viewport around the table. Is there any way to clipboard it out of model and paste it into paper? Quote
ReMark Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Is there a CHSPACE (Change Space) command in your program? Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 ReMark, Yes i do have the command, but it says "** Command not allowed in Model Tab **" when I try to take the table from model to paper. Is there a trick to this? Quote
Tiger Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Be in Paper Space and execute the command again Quote
lpseifert Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 In your case you want to be in a Viewport of a Layout (Mspace) to 'move' the table from mspace to pspace (using the Chspace command). Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 It works great in paperspace, it sends my template into model. Quote
ReMark Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 All this is covered in your Help files. There is no trick. It is pretty straight-forward. Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 ok, i got it come into paper, but now it is HUGE and scale doesnt seem to work. The table is a dynamic table for the property I am surveying, does it matter that its dynamic? Quote
sinc Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Civil 3D Tables are designed to be used ONLY in modelspace. It's also critical that, BEFORE you create the table, you set the Drawing Scale (e.g. use the Scale setting in the Status bar at the bottom of the screen) to the same as the scale for your paperspace viewport. Otherwise the spacing will be off for stacked tables. I typically put my tables all off to one side, and use separate viewports in paperspace, just for the tables. Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks, sinc. I am doing what you're doing, it seems to work so I wont complain too much:) Quote
giada001 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I am having the same problem and I tried the suggested solutions (CHSPACE,separate viewport), but the tables are still unmanageable with scaling. I set the viewport scale and lock it but it still changes the look on it's own without changing the actual scale. I don't know what to do. Any more suggestions? Quote
ReMark Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This was posted earlier in the conversation. In your case you want to be in a Viewport of a Layout (Mspace) to 'move' the table from mspace to pspace (using the Chspace command). I've used this command and normally it will resize the object(s) to fit in paper space. Quote
giada001 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I know how to use the CHSPACE command. I can get the tables in to the paper space, but I can't size them appropriately. When I move the table the size changes. The scale/size of the tables are the main problem. Quote
ReMark Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Not sure how moving the table around in your layout changes the size. Quote

Bill_Myron Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I just gave this a try, and the tables seem unworkable when using CHSPACE. Some wild scaling issues. There is always the option to explode the table, but best practice would be to use a seperate viewport. Quote
